Kaiane made history on 12 December 2009, by becoming the first ever Miss Gibraltar to be crowned Miss World. She was also the first Gibraltarian contestant to have reached the semi finals of one of the major international pageants after receiving the title of Miss World Beach Beauty.
During her reign, Kaiane travelled to over 40 countries supporting the Miss Word’s Beauty With A Purpose project.
In 2011 Kaiane was awarded the Gibraltar Medallion of Honour and the Freedom of the City of Gibraltar, becoming the first woman in Gibraltar to receive the award.
In March 2014, Kaiane was also appointed deputy to the Mayor of Gibraltar and on the 5 th April 2017, she became Mayor of Gibraltar through to 2019.
