14-Sep-2015

Miss Gibraltar 2015 officially opened the Relay for Life event which took place on Saturday 12th September 2015.

Relay For Life is a 24 hour event held at the Victoria Stadium from 11am on Saturday 12th to 11am on Sunday 13th September 2015 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Relay For Life consists of members of different teams walking around the running track over 24 hours. At least one member from each team must be on the track over the duration of the Relay.

Teams are encouraged from all sectors of the community; groups of friends, families, work colleagues, sports associations or any others who may wish to make up a team and take part. Businesses are encouraged to enter this event as it can be a good team building exercise, and at the same time raising funds for a worthy cause.

Hannah spoke to the event after the opening:

'Opened the Relay for Life this morning in aid of Cancer Research UK. It's a 24 hour relay because cancer never sleeps; it is with us 24 hours of the day. Such an amazing cause! Well done everyone, great team effort!'
